After eight years of solid development, Norway Health Tech (NHT) steps out as the owner of the health incubator Aleap. The change marks a natural step in NHT's focus on a national ecosystem for health innovation, while Aleap strengthens its role as a leading incubator in the Nordic region.

Aleap was established in 2016 by Norway Health Tech, Inven2, and Oslo Science Park to provide targeted support to early-stage health companies throughout Norway. Since its inception, the incubator has grown to become one of the largest and most respected in the Nordics, and has assisted over 200 startups in establishing themselves in health technology, biotechnology, and digital health. Today, Aleap stands firmly as a key player in the Norwegian health industry, with ambitious plans for further growth, including through the upcoming early-stage fund Aleap Ventures.

Norway Health Tech is a national health cluster with over 300 member companies from across the country, working towards increased innovation, exports, and sustainable growth in the health industry.

"Aleap is one of our great success stories, and it has been inspiring to follow the journey from idea to a professional incubator with a wide reach. Now is the time for us at Norway Health Tech to focus on our role as a national cluster player," says Lena Nymo Helli, CEO of Norway Health Tech. "Our ambition is to collaborate broadly and on equal terms with all incubators in Norway to build a unified and strong health ecosystem."

Oslotech AS, which operates Oslo Science Park and is one of Aleap's other owners, will take over NHT's ownership stake. The company has been involved since the beginning and looks forward to contributing further in Aleap's next growth phase along with Inven2, which retains its ownership.

#We have great confidence in Aleap's position and potential. With a solid foundation and a skilled team, Aleap has demonstrated that it delivers on both innovation and value creation. We are pleased to increase our commitment," says Bjørn Erik Reinseth, CEO of Oslotech.

Managing director of Aleap, Aksel Tunold, thanks Norway Health Tech for many years of close collaboration and emphasises the importance of a long-term strategy.

"We will continue to build a strong environment for health technology innovation with a goal of growth and increased exports for the health industry," says Tunold. "With long-term owners and good partners, we are well-positioned to help even more Norwegian startups from idea to market.
