The biotechnology incubator ShareLab at Oslo Science Park is experiencing strong growth and is now strengthening its board with two members who bring extensive experience from the health industry, research, and biotech.

Veronika Barrabés is Managing Director of Novartis Norway and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She also sits on the board of LMI (the Norwegian Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry) and is a former member of the state-appointed HelseOmsorg21 Council.

Physician and researcher Kjetil Taskén is head of the Institute for Cancer Research at Oslo University Hospital and professor of medicine at the University of Oslo. He has extensive experience as a research director, including as director of the Centre for Molecular Medicine and the Biotechnology Centre of Oslo, and has held key roles in European research infrastructure. Taskén has also been active in the business world as co-founder and board member of several biotechnology companies, and has contributed to the commercialization of research in collaboration with Inven2.

"We are incredibly pleased to welcome Veronika and Kjetil onto the board. They represent two sides of the same coin — commercial weight from the pharmaceutical industry and deep scientific insight — which together cover exactly the range ShareLab works within every single day. This significantly strengthens us in the work of helping more research-based companies through the journey from lab to market," says Esben A. Nilssen, Managing Partner at ShareLab.

The new board consists of Barrabés and Taskén in addition to Chairman Bjørn Erik Reinseth, CEO of Oslo Science Park:

"Since Oslo Science Park established ShareLab in 2018, commercialization of biotechnological research has been central. We are very pleased to strengthen the board with Veronika Barrabés and Kjetil Taskén, who bring their perspectives from both industry and the application of research into ShareLab," says Reinseth.
