On Wednesday, June 11, Norway's best student company was awarded in the Research Park, when the Norwegian Championship for Student Companies 2025 took place under the auspices of Youth Entrepreneurship (YE). The competition brought together the country's most innovative student teams for an energetic final day filled with pitching, engagement, and entrepreneurial joy. This year's winner was Jeta SB from the University of South-East Norway, who will now represent Norway in the European Championship in Greece later this summer.

The jury was very impressed by the level of this year's participants. Oslo Science Park's CEO Bjørn Erik Reinseth, who was part of the jury for the 'Best Student Company in collaboration with Ferd AS' award, shares his thoughts from the day:

"It's impossible not to be impressed by the high level among the student companies. There were no bad companies, and it was difficult to choose the winner. Jeta SB won - congratulations, and good luck at the European Championship in Greece."

Impacts of student companies

Jeta SB develops a fully electric, mobile air purifier that effectively removes health-hazardous dust after tunnel blasting, before it has a chance to spread. This reduces the risk of lung disease among workers, lowers water consumption and sludge handling, and provides contractors with a more efficient and sustainable operation.

The final also highlighted the importance of the work Youth Entrepreneurship do to promote entrepreneurship in higher education. Reinseth praises the entire YE team:

"Huge kudos also to Grete Ingeborg Nykkelmo and the entire YE team. You are doing a great job in facilitating entrepreneurship, also in the higher education sector, and that is important. Not only for YE, but for our national ability to create new companies and solutions."

A platform for future entrepreneurs

The event brought together 20 student companies from across the country. Participants were evaluated on their stage pitches, booth presentations, business plans, and jury interviews.

The event facilitated networking with businesses, investors, and innovation environments, and showed that student innovation is a key driver for the future of business.
